Taycan Sengün studied Biology and Neuroscience at the University of Hamburg. For his Master’s thesis, he conducted a quantitative structural analysis of HLA class I molecules using the AI-based prediction tool AlphaFold in the research group for Evolutionary Immunogenomics. He also gained practical research experience in the Cellular Cognition group at the ZMNH, where he investigated neuroplasticity of hippocampal neuronal subtypes in the context of fear conditioning. In July 2025, he started his PhD at the INIMS, exploring neuroprotective molecular mechanisms induced by physical activity in multiple sclerosis.
