Stefan Gold studied psychology in Giessen and Hamburg and received his PhD from the University of Hamburg in 2003. He completed postdoctoral training in neuroimaging at New York University (NYU) and in neuroimmunology at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Stefan is a guest scientist at the INIMS and Heisenberg Professor of Neuropsychiatry at Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin. He is interested in neuro-endocrine-immune regulation and its role in the pathogenesis of autoimmune and psychiatric disorders. His lab employs techniques from molecular biology, immunology, endocrinology, neuroimaging, and neuropsychology to study biological mechanisms of disease progression and neuropsychiatric symptoms in MS and other chronic disorders.
