Lucie de Azevedo studied medicine at the Justus-Liebig-University Gießen and Marburg and at the University of McGill in Montreal, Canada. She performed her doctoral thesis on the experimental evaluation and optimization of osteosynthesis procedures in sheep models. After receiving her medical license, her scientific interest shifted to neuroimmunological diseases. In her further specialization, she ultimately focused on multiple sclerosis. As part of her master’s degree in Multiple Sclerosis at the Carl Gustav Carus University Dresden, she dealt with immunological diagnostics and therapy monitoring in MS patients and wrote her master’s thesis on the correlation of diagnostic test procedures with JCV antibody indices. Since 2025 she works as a clinician at the MS outpatient clinic and day clinic.
